West Side Transport Named Lowes 2010 Inbound Truckload Carrier of the Year
West Side Transport Receives Lowes 2010 Platinum Carrier Award
Will Parrish Named An Outstanding Professional Driver
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (September 29, 2010) - The Iowa Motor Truck Association (IMTA) presented Will Parrish of West Side Transport with an Outstanding Professional Driver Award during the IMTA Annual Management Conference's Best of the Best Awards Luncheon held September 23, 2010 at the Arrowwood Resort in Okoboji, Iowa. Parrish has served as a company driver with West Side Transport for his entire 15-year career and was previously named 2009 West Side Driver of the Year. "I'm proud to receive this award and to be recognized by IMTA," said Parrish. "I never thought I'd be chosen for such an honor." A native of Yadkinville, North Carolina, he has logged over 1.7 million safe-driving miles. The Outstanding Driver Award is sponsored by the Iowa Council Of Safety Management and is given each year in recognition of superior commitment to safety and professionalism by a driver. Drivers are nominated by their trucking companies based on their safety and performance records.
West Side Transport Honors 2009 Driver Of The Year
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (February 18, 2010) - West Side Transport recently named Will Parrish from Yadkinville, NC as the company's 2009 Driver of the Year. Parrish was selected from a field of 12 Drivers of the Month for 2009. Driver of the Year is selected based on outstanding achievement in driven miles, fuel management, service and professionalism. West Side President & CEO, Don Vogt, presented Parrish a check and an engraved sculpture during the awards ceremony. Vogt stated, "Our drivers are what make West Side the successful company that we are. We are please to honor Will and our Drivers of the Month as they exemplify our mission by providing total quality service to our customers." Parrish was also awarded the chance to participate in the Iowa Motor Carriers Championship next year. Parrish, who was Driver of the Month in July 2009, shared his feelings of surprise about receiving the honor. "They announced my name and it dumbfounded me that I was even in the running." When asked why he thought he'd been selected, he continued, "It's doing a job in a professional manner, meeting the deliveries, picking up appointments on time, turning in paperwork on time - just knowing your job and doing your job in a professional manner."

West Side Transport Names July Award Winners
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (September 10, 2009) - West Side Transport announces the company's July driver award winners. Will Parrish from Yadkinville, NC was named Driver of the Month. Parrish joined West Side in April of 1995. Instant Impact winner was Ricky Howard from Muscatine, IA who joined West Side in January of this year. Criteria for selection of the monthly awards includes excellent fuel management, no preventable accidents, no service failures in the last 12 months, no log violations in the last 3 months, no DOT out of service in the last 12 months, attitude and professionalism. All Drivers of the Month are eligible to be named Driver of the Year.
West Side Transport Names May and June Drivers of the Month
Cedar Rapids, Iowa (July 24, 2009) - West Side Transport announces the company's May and June Drivers of the Month. In May, Robert Brislin of Towanda, PA and Chris Griffin of Nashville, TN were honored. Brislin has been with West Side for 15 years and Griffin joined the company in 2007. June Driver of the Month was Jim Turman of Manchester, Iowa who's been with West Side for 18 years. Also awarded in June as the Instant Impact winner was Thomas Maune of St. Louis, MO. The Instant Impact award is given to a driver who has been employed between 3 and 12 months. Maune joined West Side in September 2008.
Criteria for selection of the monthly awards includes excellent fuel management, no preventable accidents, no service failures in the last 12 months, no log violations in the last 3 months, no DOT out of service in the last 12 months, attitude and professionalism. All Drivers of the Month are eligible to be named Driver of the Year.
West Side Transport Names January through April Drivers of the Month

Drivers are selected monthly based on outstanding achievement in driven miles, fuel management, service, and professionalism. All Drivers of the Month are eligible to be named Driver of the Year. Company President & CEO Don Vogt explained, "Our drivers are the heart of our business and their hard work is what makes West Side successful. Naming a Driver of the Month is one way we show our appreciation for their dedication to safety, on time service and West Side's success."

Denny Stoneking, West Side Transport, Named Dispatcher of the Year
Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Motor Truck Association recently presented Denny Stoneking with the Iowa Motor Truck Association's 2008 Dispatcher of the Year Award. The Iowa Motor Truck Association and the Iowa Council of Safety Management are the sponsors of this award program. Trucking Industry Recognizes Safest Carriers, West Side Transport Among Those Carriers
Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Motor Truck Association recently recognized the state's safest carriers at its annual management Conference. Through this annual safety contest, Iowa carriers are recognized for their outstanding safety efforts. The number of accident-free miles driven, overall safety ratings and established safety programs within the company are all considered in the contest judging. Officials from the State DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration are involved in the review of all the participants and in the judging of the applications. The Iowa Motor Truck Association, Iowa Council of Safety Management and Great West Casualty Company sponsor the contest.

Thornton Dixon of Blackville, SC, was named West Side Transport’s 2007 Driver of the Year at its annual safety meeting held January 19th at the company’s corporate headquarters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Thornton was selected from a field of 12 Drivers of the Month for 2007. The award is based on outstanding achievement in driven miles, fuel management, service, and professionalism. Company President & CEO Don Vogt presented Thornton a check and engraved sculpture during the awards ceremony with many of Thornton’s fellow drivers present. West Side Transport has employed Thornton since March 10, 1981.
